KUTZTOWN, PA ~ A band of thunderstorms nixed Wednesday night's program at The Fairgrounds at Kutztown Speedway before any on-track action got underway. The pit area was jammed with 83 cars when the precipitation arrived at the one-fifth-mile oval. Racing resumes next Wednesday (June 17) with the second attempt at "Pack the Track Night" featuring $5 general admission. Kids 10 years of age and under are admitted FREE. The exciting wingless 600cc Micro-Sprints will headline the card which also includes 270cc Micro-Sprints, Slingshots and Young Gun 390 Sprints. All divisions run qualifying events and a main event feature race. Schoenly Enterprises LLC/SB3 Race Cars of Emmaus, Pa., will present the evening's activities. "We hated to have everybody come out only to load up and leave but the weather caught us by surprise," promoter Kerry Meitzler said. Grandstand rain checks and pit wristbands will be good for the June 17 program and again on July 8. Car entry fees and transponder rentals will be valid on June 17 ONLY. Teams will receive the same transponder for the event. Heat lineups have been established and will remain unaltered. Drivers who weren't in attendance for the rained-out program will be permitted to start from the rear of a heat race. With 30 600cc wingless Micro-Sprints and 30 270cc Micro-Sprints signing in, competitors are reminded that an increased purse will be distributed should either car count reach 36.
