RAIN SHUTS DOWN KUTZTOWN'S 'PACK THE TRACK NIGHT II' & SHUFFLES REMAINING '09 SCHEDULE
Wednesday, July 29, 2009

KUTZTOWN, PA ~ Rain forced the cancellation of Wednesday night's 'Pack the Track Night II' at The Fairgrounds at Kutztown Speedway.

Promoter Kerry Meitzler pulled the plug by mid-afternoon with severe thunderstorms in the evening forecast.

The wet weather has prompted schedule alterations for the remainder of the '09 season at the one-fifth-mile clay oval located in the shadows of Kutztown University. 'Pack the Track Night II' featuring $5 grandstand general admission will not be rescheduled.

On Aug. 5, the 270cc Micro-Sprints will run their consolations and make-up feature from July 22 (when rained curtailed the evening after heat races) plus a full show of 600cc wingless Micros, 270cc Micros, Slingshots & Junior Slingshots. The evening will be sponsored by the Racers Roundtable radio show.

The Kutztown Fair Races will span three nights this season, Tues.-Thurs. Aug. 11-13, with the annual Kutztown Fair as a backdrop.

The Aug. 11 show will include the Keystone Quarter Midget Club.

On Aug. 12, the wingless 600cc Micro-Sprint feature and Russell E. Conrad Inc. Cash Dash from July 22 will join a full program of 600cc Micro-Sprints, 270cc Micro-Sprints, Slingshots, 125cc Micro-Sprints and Young Gun 390 Sprints. A wingless 270cc feature will be run at the conclusion of the program, presented by Team Kobylarz/Century 21 Park Road.

The Slingshot feature from July 22 will join the Aug. 13 event, which includes touring series races for the Slingshots and Junior Slingshots, plus Senior Champ Kart Flathead and Senior Flat Kart Flathead events. Haldeman Ford Lincoln Mercury of Kutztown sponsor the evening's activities.

The Atlantic Coast Old Timers (ACOT) will be on hand for all three nights of the Kutztown Fair Races.

For the Fair Races, the $25 pit pass will include entrance to the fair. The $8 fair admission will include the race ticket price. Gates open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. for all events.

Regular grandstand admission prices for 2009 are $8 - Adults, $5 - Students (ages 10-17) and FREE for children under 10 years old. Pit admission is $20. No license will be required. Car entry remains $20.
